developing, implementing and maintaining systems and processes to achieve your Mission, Vision and Goals, while minimizing risks, liabilities and negative police-community relations.


 Your Strategic Management Plan becomes the guiding document to ensure your agency is doing the right things, at the right time, the right way and for the right reasons.

TRAINING

Strategic Management Process

  • Strategic Management is about the processes and systems aimed at developing, implementing, maintaining and revising agency vision, mission, objectives and strategies in order to achieve the agency’s intent and purpose.

  • Strategic Planning is about improving and maintaining excellence in delivery of services and to act as a guide to aid an agency in addressing rapidly changing circumstances and environments in the community and the agency.

  • This three day highly interactive class will focus on the following:

• STRATEGIC INTENT
• STRATEGY FORMULATION
• STRATEGY IMPLEMENTATION
• STRATEGIC EVALUATION

Leadership and Personnel Development

  • This three day executive law enforcement course takes a critical look at traditional activities of law enforcement agencies with emphasis on the 7 principles of identifying, training and developing warriors, servants and leaders in their agencies and for their communities.

  • This three day course is fast paced, calling for critical thinking skills and significant student participation in classroom discussions and written exercises. 

Maximizing Police - Media Relations

  • This introductory two day course focuses on maximizing police-media relationships.

​

  • Participants will be given detailed steps and strategies to maximize their duty to protect and serve their communities by utilizing various media outlets to keep the public informed.

  • Participants will be given an overview of the role, nature and function of the media in the United States and its impact on law enforcement agencies. 

​

  • Class discussions will be conducted to share experiences, good and bad, of police-media relations with their respective agencies. 

​

  • Participants will be provided a detailed scenario that they will typically face that results in media interaction. Participants will then be involved in a mock "on the scene interview" with a local reporter or actor.

​

  • Feedback will be given from both instructors and other classmates in an effort to help the individual hone their skills and confidence in dealing with the media.

Courtroom Survival

  • There are many legal issues facing law enforcement officers when investigating and prosecuting criminal cases. Equally important is developing, learning and executing courtroom strategies and skills of testifying to ensure an officer can articulate how he/she recognized the various legal issues in their case and complied with all Constitutional requirements of investigating and prosecuting a criminal case. This one-day course will instill a combination of knowledge, skills and attitude that will enable officers to not only communicate in the courtroom, but to connect with Judges and Juries in order to successfully prosecute their criminal cases. Agencies may opt for a second day of training involving a mock trial scenario allowing each participant the chance to testify on both Direct and Cross Examination.

Avoiding and Surviving a DOJ Investigation

  • The best way to avoid a problem is to solve it before it becomes a problem. 

​

  • This one-day course will take a deep look into what and how the Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division does it job. From the laws they enforce, problems they address and outcomes an agency can expect at the conclusion of the investigation. The course will also deep dive into what an agency can do to avoid and or survive a DOJ investigation – including reverse engineering the DOJ process to come up with strategies and solutions to avoid an investigation in the first place.
